Event Details
IEEE Bangladesh Section, IEEE SEU Student Branch, and IEEE NSU Student Branch jointly organized the International Student-Led Conference 2024. The conference was held at the Southeast University (SEU) and North South University (NSU), Dhaka, Bangladesh as a co-located conference of the IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology for Health 2024 (BECITHCON 2024). The conference was hosted on 28th-29th November 2024 in hybrid mode at SEU and NSU campus, Dhaka, Bangladesh .
The hybrid conference format allowed participants from all over the world to exchange scientific ideas. It featured seven competitive events titled the Postgraduate Thesis Paper Contest, Postgraduate Research Paper Contest, Undergraduate Research Paper Contest, Undergraduate Thesis Paper Contest, Undergraduate Project Video Contest, Undergraduate Student Activity Video Contest, and IEEE Student Branch Website Contest.
The competitive events aimed to promote innovation, teamwork, and technology for the betterment of humanity. All competition entries focused on key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13). The conference served as an important platform for connecting students and professionals, fostering lasting relationships and opportunities for future collaborations.

IEEE Student Branch Website Contest
The IEEE Student Branch Website Contest at Student Led Conference 2024 celebrates creativity, technical skills, and innovation in website design. Judging criteria include Visual Design and Aesthetics, focusing on the site’s appearance; Functionality and Performance, evaluating speed and usability; Creativity and Innovation, for unique features; User Experience (UX), ensuring ease of navigation; Content Quality and Relevance, emphasizing engaging and accurate content; and Technical Implementation, assessing coding standards and technology use. This contest provides a platform for student branches to showcase their achievements and technical expertise.
Undergraduate Research Paper Contest
The Undergraduate Research Paper Contest at Student Led Conference 2024 is a platform to showcase research, gain recognition, and build academic credentials. Participants can refine presentation skills, receive expert feedback, and boost confidence in a formal setting. Judged on a 120-point scale, the contest evaluates Presentation (content, organization, language, and vocal delivery), Visual Aid (readability, relevance, informativeness, and conciseness), and Performance (engagement, eye contact, gestures, and Q&A). Networking opportunities with peers and professionals, coupled with awards and recognition, motivate innovation, academic excellence, and personal growth while highlighting both research quality and communication skills.
Undergraduate Project Video Contest
The Undergraduate Project Video Contest at Student Led Conference 2024 provides a unique platform to showcase innovative projects, gain recognition, and enhance academic and creative profiles. Participants can demonstrate technical expertise and storytelling skills through engaging video presentations. Judged on a 120-point scale, the contest evaluates Content (project clarity, organization, and innovation), Visual and Audio Quality (readability, relevance, production quality, and effectiveness), and Presentation (engagement, creativity, and overall impact). This contest encourages participants to refine their communication skills, receive expert feedback, and network with peers and professionals while competing for awards and recognition, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
Postgraduate Thesis Paper Contest
The Postgraduate Thesis Paper Contest at Student Led Conference 2024 is a platform for postgraduate students to showcase their advanced research and contribute to academic excellence. Participants will present their thesis work, judged on criteria such as content depth, originality, organization, presentation skills, and the ability to address audience questions. The contest offers an opportunity to receive expert feedback, network with peers and professionals, and gain recognition for academic achievements. It aims to inspire innovation, encourage knowledge sharing, and foster professional growth in a competitive yet collaborative environment.
